Time to Talk Pet Peeves!

I have two pet peeves.

1) The "R" Word

Now I'm not talking about the word "retard" in it's dictionary definition, but when people use it to belittle someone else. Whether it be to a person with an intellectual disability or not, it hurts. Not only is it offensive to anyone, but it makes people with intellectual disabilities feel stupid, rejected, and demeaned.  There are campaigns, such as "Spread the Word, to End the Word" that exist that are taking great steps to get this word "banned", comparing it to that of the "N" word. Here is a link to their website http://www.r-word.org/. So please, spread the word to end the word.

2. Judging

I want to know, who anyone thinks they are, to have the right, to judge anyone else. Whether it be their appearance, the gender they choose to love, choices,  intelligence, the beliefs someone holds, and the list goes on. Please entertain me, and tell me WHY you think you are so much better than them? So much holier?

I guess maybe it's just easier to judge people than to understand them.

I know there are other why reasons people pass judgements, such as misunderstandings, delusional thinking, projections, discrimination, insecurities, etc.

This is one of my all time favorite ecards ;) For people who think they just "tell it as it is" when in reality, it is just ignorance stemming from their own misconceptions or a skewed view of reality.

And just remember...
